At this level the payout does not cover the roughly $8/month Premium subscription the program requires. Break-even maths

A range, not a promise. X publishes no rate card, so these bands come from publicly reported creator payouts. How this is calculated.

How the estimate works

1

Start from impressions

X pays against reach, so impressions are the input. If you only know follower count, we derive impressions from followers, posting cadence and an engagement multiplier that decays as accounts get larger.

2

Apply a rate band

Publicly reported payouts cluster between $0.50 and $10 per million impressions. The band is selected by audience geography, because payouts track what advertisers pay for that market.

3

Adjust for Premium density

X pays on engagement from Premium subscribers. Crypto, finance, AI and politics audiences contain far more of them than general-interest ones, so the band shifts up or down accordingly.

The full formula, the exact bands and their sources are on the methodology page. If you have a real payout screenshot, submitting it makes these numbers better for everyone.

Frequently asked questions

How much does X pay per 1 million impressions?
Roughly $0.50 to $10 per 1 million impressions as of September 2026, with most creators reporting $1 to $3. The rate depends mainly on how many of your viewers are paying X Premium subscribers and where they live.
What are the requirements to get paid by X?
500 followers, 5 million organic impressions across the last 3 months, and an active paid X Premium or Premium+ subscription. You also need to be 18 or over and have a connected Stripe account.
Is this calculator accurate?
It produces a range rather than a single figure, because X publishes no rate card. The bands come from publicly reported creator payouts and are recalibrated as new payout reports are submitted. Treat the output as an informed estimate, not a guarantee.
Why do two accounts with the same impressions earn different amounts?
Since October 2024, X pays on engagement from verified Premium subscribers rather than on ads shown in replies. An audience that is American and Premium-dense can be worth ten times a global, general-interest audience at identical reach.
Does this site use the X API?
No. Estimates are modelled from public information and community-reported payouts. Nothing on this site is retrieved from X's paid API, and no figure here is an official X number.
